MFTBC launches eCanter in Taiwan, offering a zero-emission truck solution.

With a goal to stop air pollution by 2050, Taiwan is welcoming the eCanter electric truck from Fuso. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), together with Daimler Truck Asia Taiwan (DTAT), officially introduced the all-electric eCanter truck in Taiwan, which now adds Taiwan to the list of markets that the eCanter serves, following its debut in 2017.

The launch in Taiwan is included in MFTBC's plan to give transportation resolutions that support zero-emission goals, which fits with Taiwan's goal for sustainability by 2050. Andreas Deuschle, MFTBC’s Head of International Sales and Customer Service, made mention of the company's commitment to innovation and leadership in green transportation solutions.

“At Daimler Truck, our history has been about being the first. We introduced the world’s first truck and have kept the world moving with a global network and diverse products for over 125 years."

The eCanter has been thoroughly tested in Taiwan under various conditions, covering 50,000 kilometers over two years. These tests were conducted on different road types and in various weather conditions, confirming the reliability of the eCanter in the local environment. The testing conducted complements the more than 12 million kilometers the eCanter has already covered globally since its introduction.

In Taiwan, the eCanter is available in multiple configurations which include different models with varying weight capacities (5 and 8.55 tons) and wheelbase options, as well as a variety of body types and electric power take-off (ePTO) options. Each vehicle is provided with advanced safety features as standard, including Active Brake Assist 5, Acoustic Vehicle Alerting System (AVAS), Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS), and Electronic Stability Program (ESP), providing a safe and comfortable driving experience.

To support the adoption of the eCanter, DTAT is establishing repair and maintenance service zones at seven locations across Taiwan. If you’re interested in seeing Fuso’s range of trucks, head over to TruckDeal to see them and get a quote for your favorite one.
