Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP), the official distributor of Fuso trucks and buses in the Philippines, has announced a new initiative to support sales and aftersales services for its partner, Shopee Philippines.
Shopee is one of the leading e-commerce companies in Southeast Asia. Established in 2015, it has quickly risen to the top of the game in logistics and supply chain management.
In the 1st quarter of 2021, the company was the most popular e-commerce platform in the Philippines, garnering around 54.6 million monthly web visits. Shopee's partnership with Fuso is a critical one. It may give the company the added leverage it needs to pull away further from its competitors.
In that regard, a new fleet of Fuso trucks could be the advantage that takes Shopee to the next level. Earlier in July, SFP turned over ten new Fuso FJ 2528R Wing Van trucks to SPX Philippines, Inc. (Shopee Xpress), the company's logistics and delivery arm.
The Fuso FJ 2528R is a capable commercial truck. Fuso says it's the first heavy-duty truck in the Philippines with a natural 32-feet loading span. As a 10-wheeler weighing 25 tons, it's the perfect truck for cross-country product distribution.
The FJ 2528R features a 6S20 diesel engine that delivers 281 hp and 1120 Nm of torque. The power plant connects to a 9-speed manual gearbox. The transmission has a double synchronizer that allows for better acceleration and fuel economy. As for safety, the trucks come with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) as standard.
Beyond the new trucks, SFP has also committed to a responsive after-sales service with Shopee. The company has already conducted multiple training programs with Shopee's drivers and operations team. The training included Basic Truck Information, Periodic Maintenance Service, Safety Driving Measures, and Efficient Driving.
With Fuso and Shopee's deepening partnership, consumers can soon enjoy a smoother and more efficient e-commerce shopping experience.
