Mitsubishi Motors Philippines' truck-oriented brand, Fuso Philippines has been teasing the arrival of the new Canter light-duty truck for some time now. While the truck has already launched in other countries, it has taken its time to reach the local market. With that said, the new Canter 6-wheeler is now available to order at authorized Fuso dealerships across the Philippines.
While not much changes in the way of a facelift when it comes to commercial vehicles, this time the new Canter comes with a restyled cab and interior. The light-duty truck now comes with a revised front fascia that now has slimmer headlights and a new grille design. The bumper of the Canter, however, has been carried over but has been revised slightly to accommodate bigger fight lights. The changes are minor to the exterior of the truck it does bring new life to the commercial vehicle.
On the inside, is where the changes are more noticeable, as the all-new Canter comes with an updated dashboard along with a new twin-spoke steering wheel. It is important to note that the steering wheel now comes with a telescopic adjust making it easier to for the driver to find a more comfortable driving position. Aside from this, the truck can also still be equipped with an audio unit along with air conditioning depending on the needs of the customer.
Powering the Canter is a 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-four engine that produces 148 hp and 370 Nm of torque that sends power to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission. The new truck has a gross vehicle weight of 8,550 kg and has a payload capacity of 6,125 to 6,090 kg depending on the rear body configurations equipped to the vehicle.
As for its pricing, Fuso Philippines has yet to reveal the prices as it will vary depending on the configuration chosen for the truck along with other additional features that the customer may want.
