A day before August ended, in Carmona, Cavite, Sojitz Fuso Philippines Corporation (SFP) handed over five Canter Commute Class 2 units to Common Transport Service Cooperative (CTSC).
Featuring a Euro V-compliant 3.0-liter diesel engine, the Canter Commute offers superior fuel efficiency and reduced emissions, making it a more environmentally sustainable choice compared to traditional public utility vehicles (PUVs). These contemporary PUVs have been constructed using the Canter platform and were the result of a collaborative effort between SFP and truck and bus body manufacturer, Almazora Motors Corporation.
These Class 2 public utility vehicles can comfortably accommodate 20 passengers in side-facing seats, with room for an additional 10 standing passengers. For passenger comfort, the air-conditioning unit is modeled after Fuso's popular light bus, the Rosa, and overhead air-conditioning vents ensure even airflow distribution within the interior.
These recently acquired Canter modern PUVs are slated for deployment along Marcos Ave., Commonwealth Ave., Quezon City, and Montalban, Rizal, via LITEX. The acquisition partnership between SFP and CTSC was facilitated through Alpine Motors Corporation – FUSO Carmona.
"We wholeheartedly thank you, FUSO Philippines, Alpine Motors, for once again opening doors and giving us the opportunity to earn a living, sustain our lives, and become a beacon of hope for those who rely on us. Thank you very, very much!"
During his speech, Mr. Yosuke Nishi, President and CEO of SFP, expressed the following sentiments: “To Common Transport Service Cooperative, your commitment and efforts have brought us to this point, where we can proudly turn over our quality FUSO modern PUVs to your business. Your dedication to providing reliable and efficient transportation services to your community truly aligns with our commitment to providing high-quality products and services as well.”
Furthermore, SFP conducted a pre-delivery orientation and training session for the CTSC operators and drivers. This session ensured that the vehicles would be operated correctly, offered driving tips, and provided essential maintenance guidance.
