Hino Motors Philippines (HMP), in collaboration with its dealer Hino Panay, has officially handed over 90 units of Hino modern PUV Class 2-S to the Metro Iloilo Transport Service Cooperative (MITSCOOP). The handover ceremony was held at the MITSCOOP Headquarters in Jaro, Iloilo City.
The event was attended by LTFRB Region VI Director Richard Osmena, as well as MITSCOOP officers led by Chairman Josemarie Delos Reyes, who received the vehicles from HMP President Mr. Shingo Sakai. This new fleet of advanced PUVs is set to enhance the daily transportation experience for Iloilo City commuters, operating on six routes across the city, including Barrio Obrero, Ungka via CPU, Ungka via Diversion Festive Walk Hub, La Paz via ISAT-U, Hibao-an via Tabucan, and Bito-on to Jaro via Balabago routes.
This delivery significantly increases MITSCOOP's Hino PUV fleet to nearly 200 units since their initial requirement in 2021. Mr. Delos Reyes expressed confidence in Hino as a trusted name in the transportation industry, citing the quality and durability of their vehicles, along with seamless parts supply and after-sales servicing. The latest addition to their fleet, the PUV Class 2-S, features a wider stance of approximately 2,100 mm, providing extra space and enhanced comfort for passengers. Built on a Japan-made Hino chassis, the PUV features a body designed and manufactured by Hino, a mark of quality that passengers and drivers trust.
In alignment with Hino's mission to contribute to a better world and future by facilitating the movement of people and goods, Hino's modern PUVs play a crucial role in connecting individuals and communities. Especially with the pressing need for operators to transition from their aging jeepneys. Modern PUVs like these provide safe and eco-friendly mobility solutions for all.
At the event, Ms. Gen Aguillon Chiong, CPA, President of Hino Panay, reaffirmed their dedication to supporting the cooperative's operations. She emphasized the brand’s commitment to ensuring the availability of parts and services whenever required by MITSCOOP. Mr. Sakai further emphasized this point, adding “Our Total Support philosophy always considers the safety and quality of our products for our customers and our passengers. You can be assured that we are here for you anytime, 24/7.”
