Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) will start 2023 with a new president, Tetsuya Fujita. He will replace the current president of IPC, Noboru Murakami, as he assumes a role in Isuzu North America, handling the Isuzu business in that region.
Fujita is a Senior Executive of Isuzu Motors Limited Japan (IML), and he has over three decades' worth of experience in handling different overseas markets like the United States and Latin America. With his knowledge and skillset in dealing with light commercial and truck markets, he will be expected to keep Isuzu the number one truck brand in the Philippines, which is a continued streak that’s been going on for 23 consecutive years, just two years shy of the brand’s 25-year history in the Philippines.
Isuzu is still expected to keep its number-one spot by the end of 2023, and Fujita will have the pleasure of seeing the Isuzu brand continue on its streak of success being the best in the country.
Noboru Murakami, the future former president of IPC, assumed his office back in May 2022. He’s set for reassignment by next year in the United States, and he marked seven months as the president of the Philippine arm of Isuzu.
During his term, Murakami was able to maintain IPC’s hold on the top spot in the trucking industry with a 48 percent market share. One of the campaigns launched by the rand was “Road To Progress” a post-pandemic lockdown project that kept Isuzu strong. IPC even celebrated its 25th-year anniversary in the country last August, wherein it announced plans for sustainable operations.
Murakami also ensured sustainability during his term, which includes plans that will likely be now overseen by Fujita in the coming year. IPC will be also transitioning into 100 percent renewable energy on top of expanding and improving its dealership network further.
