Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) made a significant move on October 6 by delivering 15 units of the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 to the MIMAROPA Transport Cooperative. This delivery marks a pivotal step in the cooperative's fleet modernization initiative, aimed at enhancing transportation services for commuters traveling between Calapan City and Pinamalayan in Oriental, Mindoro. The newest addition to its fleet will also allow the cooperative to comply with the ongoing PUV modernization program that aims to bring safer, cleaner, and more comfortable vehicles to the commuting public.
Having chosen Isuzu for the first time as their vehicle provider, the cooperative had previously been operating UV express vehicles on the same route. However, they have now made the strategic decision to transition to the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3, acknowledging the growing commuter demand in the region. This shift also brings them in alignment with the LTFRB franchising regulations governing long-distance routes.
Moving to the technical details of the cooperative’s new PUV, the Isuzu NLR77 PUV Class 3 is powered by a 4JH1-TC Blue Power Diesel Engine. Capable of producing 105 hp and 230 Nm of torque, these PUVs will be able to conquer different road conditions with ease. Manufactured with CENTRO's expert craftsmanship, this Isuzu PUV Class 3 model can accommodate as many as 23 passengers. Adhering to PNS guidelines, the NLR77 PUV Class 3 comes equipped with a suite of features designed to enhance the experience for both the driver and passengers, including GPS, CCTV, a speed limiter, a dashboard camera, onboard Wi-Fi, and an Automated Fare Collection System.

These new PUVs will be put to work serving the community of Oriental Mindoro. Featuring a robust body, a cleaner engine, and a comfortable cabin, these new PUVs will be a significant improvement over the aging vehicles that they will replace.
