Aside from the launch of the all-new mu-X, Isuzu Philippines has also released a short teaser video for an upcoming N-Series truck refresh. Typically commercial vehicles don’t get many refreshes that often, but in this case, it looks like Isuzu has something up its sleeve for this segment in the market
While the teasers from the short video posted on the brand’s Facebook page didn’t reveal too much about the upcoming truck it did showcase one particular feature that caught our attention. This feature was an automatic gear shifter that made a quick few-second appearance with the tagline “Make the shift.” While this could pertain to the refresh of the N-Series itself, it could also indicate that an automatic transmission is coming soon to the brand’s popular line of trucks. This makes things interesting for the truck maker as the majority of its lineup consists of manual transmission trucks with only a few variants in the much larger heavy-duty segment getting access to an automatic gearbox.
That said, with an automatic transmission making its way into an N-Series light-duty truck, this will make the vehicle easier to operate as the driver will no longer need to worry about changing gears and can instead focus more on the road. Aside from the new transmission option, there isn’t much else that the teaser reveals aside from three key statements which are “Easy to drive”. “Economical”, and “Safe.” all of which are already what the current version of the N-Series is known for.
With no other hints or teasers being released by Isuzu Philippines on the upcoming update to the N-Series, it’s still anyone’s guess as to what the truck maker has in store. For now what we do know is an automatic transmission variant is going to make its debut, but what other feature it may bring to the market is still a mystery. The updated N-Series is set to make its debut on October 15, 2021.
