Together with Isuzu Calapan, Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) conducted its turnover ceremony for its first-ever fleet of modern PUVs in the Oriental Mindoro region.
These modern Isuzu PUVs will be operated by Victoria Operators Driers, and Commuters Transport Cooperative (VODACTCO). Isuzu’s ceremony was held at the showroom of Isuzu Calapan, and in attendance were IPC’s president, Mr. Noboru Murakami, the head for commercial vehicle sales, Mario Ojales, as well as VODACTCO officers and members.
A total of 28 units of the Isuzu NLR PUV were turned over, and they will be ready to serve the citizens of Oriental Mindoro. The NLR PUV is part of Isuzu’s N-series of trucks whose chassis is able to be made to fit a wide variety of uses, including passenger hauling as seen here.
“We are happy and proud to be part of your progress and development in terms of transportation. Being the number 1 truck brand in the Philippines for 22 consecutive years, Isuzu’s goal has always been about providing transport solutions to people.”
General Manager for VODACTCO, Mr. Gaudencio Callo stated that “to comply to the PUV modernization program of the LTFRB, we made sure that the replacement of our old traditional jeepneys are durable and fuel-efficient vehicles because this is a big investment for our cooperative members.”
Isuzu has been supporting the modernization program for quite some time now, fielding models like the N-Series to meet the modernization program’s criteria. The 28 units that Isuzu Philippines turned over will be used as a main source of transportation for the citizens in the cities of Calapan to Victoria in Oriental Mindoro.
