Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) fielded their Traviz and the Isuzu NLR85E in the recent fuel economy challenge, observed and certified by the Automotive Association of the Philippines (AAP), called the Isuzu One Full Tank Challenge.
From April 18 to 20, 2022, IPC conducted the Isuzu One Full Tank Challenge which started at the brand’s newest dealership in the north, Isuzu La Union, and went through several provinces in Luzon, with just one full tank. The Traviz was loaded up with 100 kilograms worth of fuel for the trip, and the NLR85E, with its bigger engine, received a 500-kilogram fuel load for the challenge.
The participants of the challenge drove from La Union to Pagudpud, then down to Cagayan on its first day. Next, the trucks traveled south to settle for the night in Clark, Pampanga. The final stop of the trip was in Pagbilao, Quezon, where the trucks finally ran out of fuel after clearing NLEX and SLEX.
This is impressive given that the Isuzu Traviz has only 50-liters of fuel tank capacity to work with, and still it was able to achieve an impressive 1,063 kilometers on a single tank of diesel.
The Isuzu NLR85E was also just as impressive, as it took the longer road during the challenge, netting 1,234 kilometers traveled. The bigger truck features a 75-liter fuel tank capacity.
“As the number 1 truck brand in the country, we try to provide the best business solutions to our customers, and with the rising fuel prices, we offer to them our most fuel-efficient variants. The Isuzu One Full Tank Challenge is our way to test and prove our trucks’ excellent fuel economy, which is why we would like to as much as possible test the efficiency of our truck under normal driving conditions, carrying weight and passing through cities and highways. The results are truly impressive, it somehow suggests the optimum numbers our customers can get if they practice good driving habits on the road.”
