You might not think of garbage trucks as exciting, but Mitsubishi Fuso’s electric truck, debuting at the Japan Mobility Show 2024, is bringing some new ideas to the table. Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) will be participating in the JAPAN MOBILITY SHOW BIZWEEK 2024 from October 15 to 18, 2024, at Makuhari Messe.

The event is happening alongside CEATEC 2024, Japan’s big digital innovation event. As part of the show, Mitsubishi Fuso will display its latest products as well as join a business program prepared to create partnerships with startups and find new ways to improve mobility. At the show, Mitsubishi Fuso will be introducing its eCanter SensorCollect, a new concept for an electric garbage truck that is developed to help reduce the physical work and time it takes to collect garbage by using sensors to track the driver’s movements outside the truck. The eCanter SensorCollect is based on the company's zero-emission eCanter model, which produces no exhaust and operates with minimal noise and vibration, making it a cleaner, quieter solution for urban waste collection.

The eCanter SensorCollect was first introduced as a concept in 2020, but this updated version includes a system that can automatically follow the driver and stop at designated waste collection points. The system is expected to reduce the effort needed for waste collection and improve overall efficiency. Mitsubishi Fuso has also been working with Japan’s Ministry of the Environment since 2021 to test this vehicle and further refine it.

Also on display at Mitsubishi Fuso’s booth will be EVNION, an online platform launched in October 2024. EVNION connects people and services related to electric vehicles, aiming to support the move toward a carbon-neutral society.

With these advancements, Mitsubishi Fuso is making transportation smarter and greener. Do you think we’ll see these vehicles in the Philippines soon? Visit TruckDeal.com.ph and explore Fuso’s full range of trucks and other vehicles. Our TruckGuide will help you find what’s right for your business.
