Suzuki and Hino are two of the most well-known brands in the commercial vehicle space. With their propensity for producing well-built vehicles, it only makes sense that these companies would partner up to make something that showcases the best each has to offer.
According to Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPH), the partnership was born out of the current high demand for the Utility Van Body variant of the Suzuki Carry. On the other hand, Hino Motors Philippines Corporation (HMP) offers expertise in assembling and distributing high-quality trucks and spare parts.
Notably, HMP is the first bus body manufacturer in the Philippines to obtain an ISO certification. That puts the company in a unique position to help SPH build the Utility Van Body model that's in demand right now.
"We are excited to have Hino Motors on board as one of our body-builders to further strengthen the production lines of the ever-popular Suzuki Carry. Rest assured, Suzuki will have more units of the Carry available this year to go to work with you and be your reliable partner in fulfilling your business needs." - Keiichi Suzuki, Vice President and General Manager, SPH Automobile Division
We are excited to have Hino Motors on board as one of our body-builders to further strengthen the production lines of the ever-popular Suzuki Carry. Rest assured, Suzuki will have more units of the Carry available this year to go to work with you and be your reliable partner in fulfilling your business needs.
Hino will reportedly join Suzuki's other body manufacturing partners in producing the Carry. It should help Suzuki meet the demand of its popular commercial vehicle. The Suzuki Carry is on sale now. It features a 1.5-liter gasoline engine that delivers 95 hp and 135 Nm of torque, allowing it to carry up to 940 kg of payload. There are several variants available, including Truck, Cab and Chassis, Cargo, and Utility Van.
The Suzuki Carry starts at P554,000 for the barebones Cab and Chassis model, while the Utility Van model sells for P679,000. Small to medium businesses around the country have found success with the Suzuki Carry by their sides, and this latest collaboration could mean more organizations can benefit from the commercial vehicle.
