Volvo Trucks will present its latest truck models and technologies at the IAA 2024, which adheres to its goal of decarbonizing transport and improving road safety.
The exhibition includes the new Volvo FH Aero range, now available for markets in Europe, Asia, and Africa, and features electric and biofuel-powered variants. Additionally, the all-new Volvo VNL, introduced in the US market with advanced autonomous technologies, is making its European debut at the event.
Roger Alm, President of Volvo Trucks, expressed his anticipation of the industry's reaction to their new models and future technologies.
“I’m excited to see the reactions from customers and media on our new truck ranges and future technologies. Our line-up at this year’s IAA will show the global strength of the Volvo Group and will demonstrate our commitment to reaching zero emissions and zero accidents – both are equally important for the success of our customers.”
A huge part of the lineup includes the Volvo FM Low Entry, a truck made exclusively with a battery-electric powertrain and better visibility features to increase safety in urban environments. Apart from this, Volvo Trucks is also introducing its e-axle technology, which is made to extend the electric range and improve drivability for its next-generation battery-electric and fuel-cell electric trucks. These hydrogen-based technologies are expected to be available to customers by the end of this decade.
Another truck on display will be the Volvo FH16 Aero equipped with the new 17-liter D17 engine, optimized for power and reduced fuel consumption, and capable of using HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and biodiesel B100. Safety is also improved by its new Camera Monitor System (CMS), fitted on several trucks, improving aerodynamics for better fuel efficiency.
Overall, Volvo’s lineup at IAA includes eight different models, such as the Volvo FH Aero Electric and the Volvo FH16 Aero with HVO fuel. The company will also present its upcoming services and technologies for the next generation of trucks, including charging solutions for battery-electric vehicles.
Visitors to the IAA can find Volvo Trucks in Hall 21, booth B01, where they can also sign up for test drives on the IAA test track. In the meantime, take a look at the trucks that Volvo is currently offering on TruckDeal and consider getting a quote for something that catches your eye.
