Foton Motor Philippines, Inc. initially made its plans to enter the local truck market back in 2006. 10 years later the company became a registered locator in the Clark Freeport Zone with a 50-year lease agreement with the Clark Development Corporation. In 2016 the brand also invested a total of P1.2 billion for the construction of its assembly plant making it the first automotive plant in CDC with a line capable of producing 12,000 vehicles annually.

Foton in the Philippines is better known for its lineup of affordable Cummins-powered and Euro 4-compliant commercial vehicles such as the Tornado light duty truck as well as its EST medium to heavy duty trucks. With 26 full 3S dealerships, and a continuously growing dealer network strategically located in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, FMPI is aligned with national goals in sustaining economic growth, providing quality passenger and commercial vehicles to families and businesses throughout the Philippines.
