The Hino 500 series has seven variants that come with a wide range of powers from 207 hp up to 225 hp, coupled to either a 6-speed or 9-speed manual transmission. Powering these trucks are the 5.12-liter diesel engine for FC9JL79 variant, 7.7-liter for FM8JR7A, FG8JP7A, GH8JF7D, while the FL 10-wheeler, SG1AF7B, FM1AR7A variants are equipped with an 8.9-liter diesel engine.
