The Isuzu EK5 is a heavy-duty truck within the Isuzu E-Series lineup. At the heart of this powerhouse is Isuzu’s GH11E turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine producing 409 hp and a whopping 1,990 Nm of torque.
Buyers are given the option of two transmission choices, the first is a nine-speed manual transmission and the second is a 12-speed automated manual transmission that comes with Eco and Power modes. The EK5’s drive system is a 4x2 setup with a single-reduction and inter- Axle Diff-Lock for tricky and slippery terrain. Stopping power comes from a set of air-actuated brakes complemented by a two-stage auxiliary braking system.
Underneath, the EK5 Tractor rides on parabolic springs with shock absorbers up front and multi-leaf springs with a stabilizer at the rear.
Inside, amenities include a multi-information display instrument cluster, air-conditioning, a radio, central door locks, power windows, and air suspension seats for the driver. In addition, the EK5 comes with a sleeper cab with under-bunk storage that’s perfect for long-haul driving.
