Scania INTERLINK MD Big Bus Overview

The MD in the Interlink’s name stands for “Medium Decker,” which means that this model features an expanded cargo area over the LD model. The tradeoff for the MD is a higher roofline and a more elevated passenger floor.
As a bus that is geared more for mid-distance travel, Scania tailors its amenities to accommodate a little more luggage space underneath while still retaining the space inside the cabin. The bus is available in a variety of lengths and customers can choose between an 11-meter option, all the way to a 14.9-meter option. The long 14.9-meter option comes with up to three axles for additional chassis strength when carrying more passengers.

For powertrain options, the Interlink MD comes with either a 9-liter turbo-diesel engine or a 13-liter turbo-diesel engine. These motors can be powered by Biodiesel, HVO, or normal diesel, and the 9-liter features a power and torque output that ranges between 280 to 360 hp, and 1,400 to 1,700 Nm of torque, respectively. Meanwhile, the biggest offering in the lineup is the 13-liter turbodiesel, which has up to 490 hp and 2,550 Nm of torque in its most powerful tune.
