The Scania L-Series features a compact body that is designed for tight streets and multiple stops. Known for its low cab, the 280 in the lineup is the entry-level model and it features a 7-liter turbo-diesel engine that outputs up to 280 hp and 1,200 Nm of torque. The 280 models can also be fitted with a 9-liter gasoline or diesel engine that outputs the same horsepower but 1,350 Nm and 1,400 Nm of torque, respectively.
There are up to three body styles for the truck’s cab which includes the L-CAB Day Low, L-Cam Day Normal, and the L-Cab Day High. Two variants comprise the lineup, and customers can take their pick between a rigid truck and a tractor head for trailers. Wheel configurations include 6, 8, or 10 wheelers for the rigid trucks, and either a 6 or 10-wheeler for the tractor head.
The engines for this truck include a 7-liter turbodiesel engine that produces 280 hp and 1,200 Nm of torque. The 9-liter options in the lineup can either be powered by diesel or gasoline, but make the same horsepower with different torque outputs—1,400 Nm and 1,350 Nm, respectively.
The motors can be paired to an 8-speed Range-Change, 8+1-speed Range-Change, 12-speed Range-Splitter, or 12+1-speed Range-Splitter gearbox depending on the option chosen. Scania also provides either a single-driven or tandem-driven rear axle gear set which allows for more weight to be borne by the transmission. Single-driven rear axle gears allow the truck to handle up to 78 to 80 tones of gross vehicle weight, while the tandem-driven axle gear set goes from 80 tons all the way to 210 tons.
Scania also offers a bodybuilding service that allows clients to suit the truck for any need in any industry. On top of that, the premium service also allows customers to receive instructions, drawings, and details about their equipment, as well as tools, certificates, and online tutorials.
