The Constellation 17.280 Rigid is the much larger and more powerful version of the Constellation truck. Sitting at the top of the lineup, the Constellation 17.280 Rigid is powered by a MAN D08 36 280 turbo-diesel engine pumping out 280 hp and 1050 Nm of torque between 1100 to 1700 rpm.
The 17.280 Rigid is available in 12 body styles, these include a Closed Van body, Drop Side body, Crane, Dump Truck, Refrigerated Van, Wing Van, Flatbed, Fuel/Water Tanker, Transit Mixer, Broiler Truck, Garbage Compactor, and even a specialized Troop Carrier.
Stopping power is provided by air-actuated front and rear drum brakes. These come with safety systems like an anti-lock braking system, electronic brakeforce distribution, and automatic traction control as standard.
