The Volksbus 9.160 OD is a variant of the Volksbus available in the Philippines. The OD at the name is part of Volkswagen Truck and Bus’s naming nomenclature, with the “D” meaning it is a front-engined variant of the Volksbus.
The Volksbus 9.160 OD is equipped with a Cummins ISF 4-cylinder engine featuring a common rail injection system. This engine delivers 160 hp and 600 Nm of torque, providing ample low-end torque to carry a full load of passengers. The power is transmitted to the driven wheels through a ZF S5-420 manual transmission, which has five forward gears and one reverse gear.
The Volksbus 9.160 OD has a seating capacity of 33 people with a total length of 9,000 mm and a GVW of 9,000 kgs. Stopping power comes from air-actuated front and rear disc brakes. In addition, the Volksbus 9.160 is rated for EURO 5 emissions standards thanks to its Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology which uses AdBlue diesel exhaust fluid.
